This game is a prequel to Five Nights At Freddy's, but it features a new story, character, and location. The main character in this game is Jeremy Fitzgerald, who is hired to work the night shift from 12 AM to 6 AM. The location in this game is a new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location, which is on lockdown. Every night, he receives calls from an unnamed staff member and is told about the franchise's backstory and the origin of animatronics. Specifically, the facial recognition software of the animatronics helps to protect children from potential dangers. However, they do not have night mode. Therefore, at night, they try to reach the nearest location where the noise is created. Additionally, because of the murder of children by a mysterious purple figure, the police are investigating the restaurant. At the end of the game, a newspaper appears. It reveals that the redesigned "toy" animatronics will be scrapped, while the older ones will be kept for a future reopening. Moreover, Fritz Smith is fired after having worked as a security guard for seven nights.
In the second version, new animatronics are introduced. They are Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, Mangle, Balloon Boy, and The Puppet. These animatronics can move in the vents to enter your office.
This new installment also tasks you with surviving each night from 12 AM to 6 AM. Every night, animatronics also roam around and attack anyone in the restaurant. You need to check the camera system to track the positions of animatronics and prepare for their movements. When any animatronic is near your office, you cannot close the door. Instead, you should wear a Freddy Mask to fool the animatronics. However, you should not wear the mask for too long if you do not want to die from a lack of oxygen. In addition, the music box must be wound up constantly to prevent some animatronics from entering your office. Sometimes, you should turn on the lights to check the emergence of animatronics.
